Joanne, an engineer from South West College, Dungannon, visited Primary 7 today. She showed us how hydraulic systems work and introduced us to ‘Marty’ the robot. We learned that a lot of engineering is about making mistakes and problem solving. Joanne also discussed ideas for an upcoming engineering design competition. She was visibly impressed by all contributions and Primary 7 were motivated to get to work straight away on their designs. Some even gave up their lunchtime to prepare PowerPoint presentations on the topic.
